I was diagnosed HIV+ in 2004. I elected to forego HAART therapy for holistic therapy, including Colloidal Silver and several other supplements including Shegoi, Olive leaf extract and lypo-spheric vitamin C. My doctor was impressed that my viral load did in fact decrease.
In 2006, after reading about AIDS denialist theories, decided to stop monitoring my viral load/CD4 counts, and presumed myself normal and healthy. I was asymptomatic for almost four years.
On April 22nd, 2010, I was hospitalized with PCP, a pnuemonia specific to immune suppressed individuals. At this time I came to find out that my CD4 count was <10, and my viral load was over 300,000. In light of this recent episode, I have chosen to begin HAART therapy, taking Atripla once a day. I will also be supplementing my HAART therapy with the same supplements that used at the beginning of my infection. I have also added Sutherlandia OPC herbal cancer cure to my regimen.
You AIDS denialists are dangerous individuals. While it is possible that false positives are common, to say that HIV is a harmless retrovirus is absurd, as proven by my situation. HIV weakened my immune system to the point where PCP was able to infect my lungs and virtually begin suffocating me from the inside out. I am angry that I allowed your bad Science to cloud my vision, and inform my decisions about my health. I take full responsibility for myself and my choices, and am now on a path of healing.
To other people with HIV- I let fear and silly Science put my life in danger. My doctors made it very clear to me that no one should be dying of AIDS anymore. Technology has moved us past that. However you decide to treat yourself, be pesistent, consistent, and have your bloodwork done every six months by a doctor you trust.
