"Your
argument is moot...
Fact - Obama has spent much money to keep this, and his educational history
among other things like international travel and schooling, under wraps for
possibly a variety of reasons, whether he was born in Hawaii or not.
What is Obama afraid of? What is he hiding? That is more of the issue than
whether or not he was born in Hawaii..."
You've got it backwards - the issue of his birth in Hawaii is moot but the righties will continue to hammer on it. Someone provided a link to a very recent story out of San Francisco that someone "has proven" that Obama is not a natural born citizen. The story contained a lie in one of the first paragraphs by saying that his mother was not a U. S. citizen. Living in the Seattle area I've read a lot of stories by the Seattle Times which has taken pride, more or less, that she was born in I think it was Bellevue, a Seattle suburb. I know she was a citizen. Regarding his spending a lot of money on the issue, Anderson Cooper on CNN the other night pointed out that was a lie, he hasn't.
I'm for progress. I'm disappointed in Obama not keeping many of his campaign promises. I'm disappointed that he's not opening up government records. In fact, I don't think there should be government secrets. Yet at the same time I think that Obama's background has not presented him with a great many real life experiences and because of that he is very naieve. I truly think that he thought he could come in and build a link with Republicans, and he is unable to do that. I think that the main reason is because of his race. The race issue is much, much larger than what the MSM has made it out to be and the Republicans have to go back to their constituency and face the voters and they are afraid to vote with Obama. I think that in his attempt to follow in Lincoln's footsteps he does not want to embarrass the Bush Administration, or prior elected officials - even though they violated the constitution with torture, just to name one item. He's willing to forgive and forget which I think is a good idea in most cases, but it still perturbs me. All that said, I think that the birther movement, the health care law which has been passed - which the majority of Americans wanted when he was elected, get ripped by the right-wing backlash and much more press - far more than any Bush bashing that ever went on.
The road of progress is filled with pot holes. The more progress we make, the more violent the backlash will become but it will continue. Both the progress and the backlash
Someday I'll make a post regarding the progress that was produced by the 20th Century and will watch and ROLF from the responses as I've been doing on this thread.
I'm a former Pentecostal (not by choice), right-wing as they come, racist who enjoys watching those who are having difficulties being where I was at. All you have to do is go with the flow.
