An update from my original post:
Now that the weather is becoming more nature-friendly, I have started walking for exercise.
The first time was a disaster. After sitting around for what seems like hundreds of years intending to get exercise, but procrastinating at each opportunity, I finally to the first step (literally). After walking a grand total of almost a quarter mile, I thought I would need to call 911 to restore my breathing. I felt like I was suffocating.
So I quit walking.
That was last year. This year I tried it again. I pushed myself, but in just a few short weeks, I look forward to my daily walks, rain or shine. I am up to a half-mile in 10-15 minutes. I'm still breathing heavily at the end, but I can feel my lungs opening and the exhaustion is gradually becoming less and less.
I credit the watercure for being able to do this. Drinking the water and eating the salt (along with a few other supplements) has restored moisture to my lungs and the salt, in particular, is keeping my lungs mucus free.
I wish I could walk farther that I currently do. I think I will, eventually. But considering where I've been over the last 5 years or so since I was diagnosed, I've come a long way - much farther than I could hope for.
