You sould pretty clued up on this, is there any adv u can offer or do you have any coping stratagies .I have had this condition for the last 3 years but the last 2 years have been a nightmare, i dont think there has been a day thats passed where i havent had the dull ache or pain in my sternum and rib area. I fractured my sternum 9 years ago and never had pain as bad as this at the time. Over the years i have had whiplash twice and maybe trauma cased by Theme park rides ( from the arnest ). I also used to swim a few miles a week for approx 10 months but had to stop due to the pain and even liked to do weights to tone up and keep fit. The worst time for the aching is in the evening or first thing in the morning when the body seems to have had a rest, i seem to freeze up and it takes a coUple of seconds to be able to move. Also i have 2 young boys - my youngest been 3yrs and picking him up can set me back for the rest of the day. Even decorating and gardening brings on the pain.
I have seen a specialist several time for this and had a cortasone injection on monday just gone, i was advised not to take any pain reliefe for approx 3 days to see if the injection had worked, much to my annoyance i had to have pain reliefe toaday (less than 48 hrs after). I seem to be taking anti-inflamatories everyday for this and if i miss a dose my body really notices.
What do you find works best, i cant bare the thought of having this for another so many years.
Becky
