Cause I get them all the fricking time. And guess what? They pop up after carb violations or drinking. Another familiar feature: they appear with stress instantly (change from totally clear face to huge red blotches in less than half an hour), and sometimes also fade away instantly under a steroidal or antifungal onslaught. As in - in like 5 minutes. Also, they just happen to get covered with this white film-like substance which washes off with water, but reappears within like 2 minutes.
Best cures: high-dose itraconazole (and any other potent antifungal out there), topical and oral terbinafine, topical ketoconazole, ketoconazole shampoos, no-carb diet, probiotics, steroid creams (yeh, bad in the long run, but keep em from spreading), tea tree oil.
Now, either I just discovered that itraconazole cures herpes, or it's fungal in origin.
