"When I hear the religious right saying that America is a christian nation, I often wonder how the Americans that aren't christians feel about this pronouncment."

Since Religion has been used as a political tool, the confusion regarding this subject is understandable, it is not clear if America is a Christian Nation, because America is not a nation, the USA is.
