I have used bloodroot for about 8 yrs. I have used it in salves for external conditions with 100% success, and have taken it internally with an equal amount of success. For internal use , I use blood root, red clover , chaparral leaf and galangai root with a tiny bit of regular white flour. I first grind all the ingredients except the flour with a mortise and pedestal " a coffee grinder" might work as well. then take all the herbal ingredients and put them into a pyrex bowl..."no metal" and heat it over a pan of boiling water..1qtr cup bloodroot powder, and 1tsp of the rest mixed with a small amount of water about a 1/4 cup...it can be reduced if too liquid...simmer it for about a 1/2 hr and mixed thoroughly and then add the flour. Let the mixture thicken and then take off the stove and let cool. be sure to use only glass or wooded utensils !! When the misture is cool simply put it into a clean amber pill bottle, again glass or plastic not metal and put it in the fridge for a day....when it is done You can use it either internaly or externally. To use it internally I have found that making small balls about the size of a half of a pea works well...set them to dry on a glass plate covered with a paper towel....in a few hrs you will have the dried pellets. Take 1 pellet every other day for a week.....rest for a week, and then repeat....after 2 cycles you should be able to take a pellet a day. I take a pellet a day every other week for a week. To use it externally simply take a wooden "stir stick" or tooth pick and smear a small amount on the affected area and cover it with a band aid and leave for 24hrs before checking. sometimes the affected area may be a art or a a mole tha is in question, if so just take an emery board and lightly rough the surface prior to application. If you choose to use a more corrosive mix simply add weight of blood root for weight zinc chloride and follow the same procedure .
