I think raccoons are beautiful and they're so fun to watch. We feed the deer 5 gallons of corn every night, the raccoons partake of it too. Its cool to watch their little hands pick up and eat the corn. We feed the corn in 4 piles because we have so many deer to feed and sometimes the deer, raccoons, and red foxes are all eating at the same time. We love it!
We keep the corn in 2 fifty-five gallon trash cans with tight lids in the garage. We have a cat door in one of the garage doors so the cats can get in and out, so the raccoons come and go as they please. One night when we got home after dark a huge raccoon came barreling out the cat door. When my husband went to get the corn to feed the deer the lids were off both trash cans and two tiny baby raccoons were in one trash can asleep in the corn lolololol! They were all curled up and looked so precious we didn't have the heart to disturb them. We figure it was mama who ran out and that shocked me that she would leave her babies!
Raccoons love black oil sunflower seeds and corn, at least our raccoons do. Sounds really relaxing to sit outside in a rocking chair with the laptop and even better when you can talk to the raccoon lol. I talk to all our furry friends, baby talk that is! ENJOY yourself. ;)
