Hi my son recently had croup with asthma and had a two day hospital stay (with stridor) including a night in the ICU. His cough has now gone. I gave him Olive Leaf Extract (anti viral/anti fungal/ anti bacterial) and he did have some ventolin (to help breathing) but is okay now and is not on it anymore. I also had eucalyptus oil burning in water overnight to help his breathing.
I recently came across a great article on foods we eat. Saturated fats are crucial for digestion. My son also had a digestion problem. Butter, lard etc. - are what my grandparents ate and are good for digestion as is coconut oil (fats from nature). Croup happens because of nutrition. I am closing monitoring what to feed my son. Many foods today are depleted of their nutritional value (even vegetables). Good luck.
Read down the article on the fats section but the whole article is very good.
