Hi Antique,
I am using tap water. I'm glad you brought that up. Is that what you're using? Originally I used it just because I don't have to buy it by the gallon like I would have to buy distilled.
I have RO here too, but it takes a very long time to get enough out of that teeny little outlet it has to fill the foot bath container, so I have wound up just using tapwater.
In the interest of not complicating things, I have just left it at 'tap'. However, I do not like the tapwater here where I am (Turns the interior of a pot white with sediment very quickly), so I may just make the experiment to use distilled, today. I'll post here if I do, so we'll know what happens.. My understanding is, however, that distilled water is not nearly as conductive.
Ref temp:
Yesterday I used water that was ouch-hot also. IMO that was overkill, and it was uncomfortable. I won't do it again. My understanding is that heat assists the water to be more conductive (as does the salt).
So while I can't swear it to you, it would make sense to me that the water temp could affect the efficiency of the bath, and might affect how long it takes for the Soakee to experience benefit.
Thanks for posting your thoughts.
Stay well,
Ladylove :)
PS: I scrub the cheese graters before each bath to get as much as possible of the gunk off. But- being cheese graters- they don't scrub well :) L
