Oops, it seems that I misunderstood the information that was given me. Sorry about that. I was in the middle of another discussion when this question came up, and I just threw it out there, was answered, and then we went on from there.
I did not clarify the details.

You will notice that the current is 1 mA per square inch of ANODE material. That is not anode + cathode.
That means you have to cut your total square inches in half, or just figure the square inches of the anode.
It is a little difficult to measure the current on my generator, but I seem to come up with 1 amp over several measurements. I have not traced this over time, so I don't know if that is the maximum or not, but it seems to fit the model.
Details,details,details... in this case the details are very important.
