Why bother exploring a baited hook?

Who is trying to control who? Who cast the thread?

"These posters would love nothing more than to insult and name-call, spin, and divert, to the point that we would leave the forum that they think they own."

This forum wouldn't be so lively without you guys, but I'm sure a lot more real discussion would get done regarding the forum topic. Instead it's just diversion from the topic.
