So everyone's response to having parasites is complete horror, but some parasites seem to be a natural part of the evolutionary process.

If tapeworms are absorbing heavy metals in our bodies, then they serve as a protective mechanism from toxicity. Has anyone stopped to think that some of these parasites are actually beneficial, albeit disturbing?
