should a healthy tooth be pulled out to do cavitation surgery ? it seems there are conflicting views on this.


I'm not sure what your particular circumstances are so I'm not sure how to comment. Normally an infection in the jawbone would occur as a result of either a root canal or a cap or crown having been placed on a tooth. Based on what I've read, the infection, once it starts, can spread to other areas of the mouth if given enough time. I suppose it is possible for it to spread to a tooth site on either side. If that were the case, the tooth would not be healthy anymore, therefore you would not want to keep it in our mouth. Have you had a Cavitat scan done? That would help to determine which specific tooth sites have the problem.
