It's soft tissue damage. The only way to get this healthy is to not strain your torso area. I look at those people on TV that have that abdominal machine, so there they are on all 4's twisting back and forth. Man, everytime I see that my whole body just screams.

I've had this condition for years now. They say that if you were in a trauma/accident, this will resolve in about 4 months. How long has it been for you? But for some it's sporadic and chronic. Mine seems to come at times of great stress, and my massage therapist believes I'm bracing and pulling my shoulders up and out of alignment each time. So I have to consistently remember to relax my shoulders. This has helped quite well for me.

But give me a day in the yard weeding, and there is a very good chance I'll have a flair up by nighttime....considering I started getting this 6 years ago, I'm so bummed out.

My husband has bad ankles. He's sprained both of them on a pretty high scale. He easily sprains them stepping off a curb. It's something he has to live with. I'm not so sure I'm much different.

But for you? Perhaps if you were healthy and in shape to begin with your recovery will be swift, and on-going? I hope that for you. But in the meantime, you just have to be aware of your torso and that whole area and let yourself heal....

Molly
