Thanks for your response.

The shortness of breath is intermittent to the extent that it lasts non-stop only for a period of couple of hours when provoked by the mental activity resulting in the erratic breathing, and goes away until provoked again.

And it is chronic to the extent that it is ready to resurface at any time.
