Perhaps you know lots of people over the internet don't advise to drink any alcohol. So for years i tried to limit alcoholic drinks due to Candida.
First of all i am french and i come from a vineyard region called Bordeaux.
two weeks ago, one of my friend came to see me. In order to celebrate his visit i decided to open rosé and white wines bottles (i had those bottles since 6 months)
We had several cepages from different vineyards and everyday we tried one different. After one day, my friend told me your belly is totally inflated. So i looked at it and yes my belly was totally inflated. Then i had lots of gas. To me it looked like die-off effects and not candida effect.
Then i wonder it is perhaps related to the polyphenols in the wine (the Tanin). Polyphenols are strong antifongic. So i know there are more polyphenols in red wine than white wine so i decided to buy a red wine bottle. I started in the morning, and took a slip of wine every 15 minutes. At the end of the day,i started to mix my Licorice tisane with my red wine. meaning 2 slips of red wine and half a cup of licorice every 15 minutes. At around midnight i felt very bad, i vomited several times. Let me remind you i took only slip of alcohol. so to finish a glas it takes me several hours.
Today, i woke up and i felt REALLY better. I went to the loo and i had one surprise. My stools were dark grey. This is something i never saw in my life before.
But the way when i woke up this morning, i expected to be sick and had headache. NOT at all. Nevertheless, i wanted always to vomit. And in fact, i have the feeling it is a die-off effect.
I do think now wine is good to fight candida.
