Andre,
I agree with some of the thrust of your post re' supplements, but only while water-only fasting.
The next poster in this thread mentioned Orthomolecular Medicine, which is the use of supplements (in a bioavailable form) in the successful treatment of disease and the improvement of health...............

Whatever our viewpoints/opinions may be, and how each person approaches the use of optimum nutrition in health maintenance and even recovery, there is a very strong argument, based in clinical practice, for supplementation: just one example would be Vitamin D3 or Cholcalciferol...................
In a World where adequate sunlight exposure is possible, and the soils in which our plant-foods become nutrient-dense, then this would be the ideal, but in the real World where adequate sunlight exposure is restricted either thru economic reasons or overcast skies in the Winter, and soils are depleted of their mineral content, there is a growing professional consensus that supplementation has become a necessity.

We also have to be careful of the type and quality of supplements used, and if we are, then this can only add more healthy years to a perceived and limited lifespan.

I am probably in agreement with you on the use of supplements during a fast, in that they are not necessary, and can interfere detrimentally with Natures own method of cleansing and healing.
Respectfully yours
Chrisb1.
