One dentist told me I had periodontal disease due to pockets (looser skin) in the front of two teeth. I requested the dentist to deep clean the gums of those two teeth. However, I only got the pockets a year or two ago, and my EC did not go away with gum cleaning. But I could have had gingivitis at the start of this EC without knowing that I had it. Although I heard last week on a tv show that only about 10% of Americans floss every day. Why do not more people have this lip problem then?
I visited a new dentist this month who did not think I had periodontal disease. It could be that the deep cleaning closed up the pocket more. But he did not measure how much gum space and recession I had on each tooth like most dentists do.
It is hard to floss when your lips skin will fall apart if you do. But when my lips healed up more, I started to floss every day.
