It is sad to hear story after story like this. And these stories only add up. They are not diminishing.

Unfortunately here, we cannot eliminate all meds. My wife must continue to take immunospuressants twice a day. Liver transplant. We have however worked hard to reduce other meds. How they all fit together over time is too long of a story.

Of the many things we've learned to do with doctors, and we've had way too much engagement with them over time (5 total joint replacements plus other things in addition to the xplant), we've learned to ask at the end of a recommendation by a doc to prescribe this and that is to ask "what is the outcome you are going for"? To get it in their own words, and repeated several times, what are you trying to accomplish. Makes them rethink, and then we charge off to see how we can attain the same results, without. It took years, but to just have her able to remove blood pressure meds was a HUGE accomplishment.

Anyway, story after story after story. I do think part of this is money. And part of this is just time which equals convenience. Being able to scurry a patient along means being able to see more patients. We see this a LOT in some practices.

Am sorry for your girlfriend, and you. As you say, Trapper is right as rain.
