I agree with you Wombat 100%. Diet IS everything! My son had terrible asthma that completely went away as soon as we changed his diet. We took out everything refined and processed, got rid of sugar. We buy a cow every year from friends here in town who raise their own beef, no hormones, no grains, range fed and NO Antibiotics . Our family eats tons of veggies and tons of fruits, and we buy organic when we can find it in this tiny town. In the summer we grow our own huge garden. My son is healthy now, has excellent color where he used to be translucent white, big dark circles under the eyes. It's funny but in almost all of my health books for pretty much any ailment, they recommend getting rid of dairy, wheat and everything else processed. Cook from scratch and keep it basic. There are tons of documents out there on diabetes (both types) that have completely reversed themselves with diet change alone. Look at the people who are able to reverse cancers (once their doctors have told them they are done with them because there was nothing more their conventional doctors could do for them). They go to a clinic in Mexico, change (clean up) their diets take some herbs, enzymes, Iodine (detox) and they become healthy again. They get sick again when they go back to their crappy diets. You have to have a quality diet in order to get better. I have articles I have found on epileptic seizures completely going away with a ketogenic diet (low carb). Even on this site you guys explain how it is necessary to clean up the diet. I got off all refined everything when I started Iodine supping. I had started before hand because of candida issues. My ovarian fibroid used to kill me all the time. The pain was terrible all month long, but excruciating during "that time of the month". Once I cleaned up my diet the pain went away (completely from diet change alone) for most of the month. Iodine and cod liver oil took away the misery during the one week of the month that I still suffered with pain, in fact they dissolved the fibroid away completely. Manufacturers are putting so much garbage into our processed foods it's scary as hell. There are MSGs & other flavor enhancers, preservatives , colorings, fillers, trans-fats, & chemicals we can't even pronounce. Then there is the toxic containers and pans. Lots of people still cook with teflon in their pans. My mother in law microwaved everything she cooks in plastic containers. I keep telling her how toxic it is and all the chemicals she is putting into her food by cooking this way, but does she listen to me??? No, and she has Arthritis so bad she is almost crippled completely. She eats tons of breads, bagels, cereals, so many processed foods, lots of canned foods that have so many chemicals in them, then to top it off she cooks in her crock pot extensively. I threw mine out when I our news here in town had a story about all the lead exposure coming from them. Lead amounts that are perfectly legal allowable amounts per government standards (arg!!!) Here's some info on the crock pots:

She's says it's okay because she puts a plastic liner in it so the lead can't get through. It's pointless talking to her. The only thing she worries about is salt. It is crazy!!! But back to what Wombat has written, It wouldn't shock me in the least if people were able to turn their thyroid conditions around just cleaning up their diet too.
