Type 2 diabetes accounts for about 95% of diabetes cases. Type 2 diabetes results from a lack of chromium, not a lack of sulfur. MSM is 34% sulfur by weight and decomposes in to elemental sulfur in the body. The sulfur is used in insulin production, but in the early stages of type 2 diabetes there is too much insulin being released. This is what leads to the serious side effects of the diabetes of retinopathy, kidney failure, gangrene and a lot of the heart disease.
