 I had flowers for mother's day last weekend. I thought instead of using the plant food in sachet supplied i would put them in silica water which i took from my filter jug i use for myself.

They were nearly dead by next day. Why is that? i thought it was supposed to be good for plants etc.

It is good for live growing plants. I see no reason why the silica would cause the flowers to die anyway.
