Minnie...
2 things that pop into my mind is Iodine and vitamin D. Here is a link to the Iodine supplementation forum for a poster who had success with resolving her Psoriasis with Iodine supplementation. Wombat has a high iodine cream that is getting rave reviews, it would be good to apply topically to the areas affected. Please read everything on that forum and http://www.iodine4health.com
as well as http://www.breastcancerchoices.org/iodine

As our bodies are deficient in iodine and our environment is full of fluoride and bromide, two halogens above iodine in the periodic chart of elements, our bodies will accept the fluoride and bromide in place of lacking iodine. So our iodine receptors (which are all over our body) has these iodine masqueraders wreaking havoc with our body causing all kinds of horrible health problems from thyroid and breast cancer, fibroid tumors, behavior issues with children, unresolved skin problems, the list goes on and on and on. Fluoride and bromide are toxic to our bodies and we are woefully deficient in iodine. I'm giving you the short explanation, but the Iodine Forum here has lots of info as well as the links I gave you. Trapper and Wombat can give you advice for your son for his psoriasis.
Next, in addition to being iodine deficient we are deficient in vitamin D. We have become afraid of the sun and slather on sun block that effectively blocks the sun rays from penetrating our skin so we can manufacture vitamin D. We also don't eat as much liver or ingest cod liver oil as our parents did. http://www.vitamindcouncil.org.
It would be a good idea to get your sons vitamin d level tested. Supplementation for this is easy as there is a sublingual vitamin d supplement, the tiny little pill tastes sweet and dissolves easily under the tongue. I used this product to get my levels up when my levels were a deficient 12. I used other brands as well, as I was taking 20,000 iu daily and went through the bottles of 5,000iu rather quickly. At one point, I was using up a bottle of 1,000iu (that I thought was really high when I bought it and only took sporadically because I was afraid of overdosing -- I was misinformed) and was knocking back 20 of those little gel caps daily.

When you start your son supplementing iodine, don't forget the companion supplements and to salt his food freely with unrefined salt. The salt will flush the bromide out through the kidneys.

BTW..if you google Psoriasis and hypothyroidism, you'll get many hits. Stephanie Buist, moderator of the iodine board on yahoo has two hypothyroid children. She crushes iodoral tablets in applesauce for them to take. You can get Lugols 2% in 2 oz bottles at http://www.swansonvitamins.com
for $11+sh. You can add drops in water for him to take. There's a bit of an issue with putting it in juice though, because the vitamin C converts the iodine to Iodide and the body needs both iodine and iodide. Trapper, Wombat (on the curezone iodine supplementation board) and Stephanie Buist at http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/iodine/
may have some ideas to get your son to take the iodine.
