Glycerine also counteracts alcohol cravings. Candidiasis is usually the result of too much refined carbohydrates (sugar) in the diet. The Candida fungus lives off sugar. It could be possible that heavy metal intoxication could cause candida infection, because heavy metals replace the zinc substrate that is necessary to metabolize sugars. But this would be the exception rather than the rule.
