Hello Chiron,
Thank you for your kind words about my web site. Do your friend know about the green laser for prostate? The green laser procedure is effective in:
* Reducing prostate size by vaporizing diseased tissue
* Avoiding healthy tissue simple due to its color and the color of the laser
* Allowing continued sexual and urinary activity
* Providing rapid recovery
This procedure is done in an arthroscopic manner so your friend can go home the same day. There are three supplements that have been used as support for prostate cancer patients as well as preventative supplements.
Beta-Sitosterol
This is the active ingredient in most of the popular prostate preventatives such as saw pimento and pumpkin seed. Its effectiveness in reducing prostate swelling is clearly demonstrated in the following randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind clinical trial published in Lancet. 1995 Jun 17;345(8964):1529-32. The study was run by the Department of Urology, Ruhr-University, Bochum, Germany.
200 patients (recruited between April and October 1993) with symptomatic benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlarged prostate) were treated with either 20 mg beta-sitosterol (which contains a mixture of phytosterols) three times per day or placebo. Changes in urine flow parameters: beta-sitosterol treatment resulted in increasing peak flow (15.2 [5.7] mL/s from 9.9 [2.5] mL/s), and decrease of mean residual urinary volume (30.4 [39.9] mL from 65.8 [20.8] mL). These parameters did not change in the placebo group (p < 0.01). Significant improvement in symptoms and urinary flow parameters show the effectiveness of beta-sitosterol.
This result demonstrated the usefulness of beta-sitosterol in the treatment and prevention of prostate cancer.
Preventative Dosage
There is no established dosage for prostate prevention, but doses of up to 6 grams have been used for colesterol control.
DIM
DIM (Di-indolylmethane) might be the secret of the prostate health. Commercially raised beef, chicken and pork contain added hormones to speed up growth increasing the estrogen in your body. Soy additives that act like estrogen and which are listed as vegetable protein are found in many processed foods and even in vitamins and medicines. Also, as men get older, we produce more fat cells. Fat cells produce an enzyme called aromatase which turns testosterone into a powerful form of estrogen, called estradiol. The net result is a tremendous increase in estrogen as your testosterone levels decline.
When estrogen goes up and testosterone goes down, men experience weight gain (especially around the belly), flabby muscles, weaker erections, poor memory, mood swings, circulatory problems including blood clots, sinus problems and PSA levels rise. Also, the risk of abnormal cell growth skyrockets. DIM (di-indolylmethane) reverses this estrogen build-up and erase these symptoms. It converts bad estrogen into "good" estrogen by-products. These good estrogen by-products trigger more testosterone to be released in your bloodstream. Having more free testosterone works wonders for your sex drive, energy levels, fitness and prostate health. DIM shrinks swollen prostates down to normal size and lowers your PSA levels. It is also a potent immune booster, anti-viral agent, increases energy levels, and builds lean, hard muscle.
Side Effects
As of Jan 2010, no side effects have been reported.
Dosage
Typical dosage is 150 mg of DIM, two times a day.
Curcumin from Turmeric
Curcumin is a well know over-the-counter preventative for Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, Parkinson's, arthritis, cancer, Alzheimer's and heart disease. It is also used as a general anti-inflammatory agent. Details can be obtained from the Advanced Health & Life and the Ray Sahelian, M.D. web sites. Curcumin has even been applied as a noninvasive topical paste directly onto tumors and inhibited tumor growth. Available in many dosage sizes.
Preventative Dosage
Dosages for optimum benefit have not been determined. Common recommendations are 400 to 600 mg of curcumin three times daily. Curcumin has been used to treat pancreatic cancer in doses as high as 12 grams a day.
Calcium D-Glucarate
Calcium D-Glucarate removes excess hormones that can stimulate tumor growth. This has been proven with animal testing and with human tumor cells. It has been able to stop the growth of breast, colon, liver, lung, prostate and skin tumors and prevented them from even starting. It also helps the body remove toxins.
Dosage
Typical dosage for cancer patients is between 500 and 1000 mg given twice a day.
Both DIM (Di-indolylmethane) and Calcium D-Glucarate are good for hormone dependant cancers which might work for both your friends.
Sincerely,
Paul Winter
