The Center

The stork was busy post-War
booming babies in the
middle
peaceful crooning
and the masses
so many
so fast
and now we need glasses -
what next of what’s left
if 100 marks
the end?

The center’s left was
a hopeful deal
laced with invincible bright
high energy flight
harnessed by fight
in the night
love denied
in broad daylight
slipping over mid-line decline
just to the right of
center
the black box emptied
tucked into disc
dice rolling to the
abyss . . .
