Chris- lets not be niave. There is big money in supplements, also in the tanning industry. I have been around here long enough to be suspicious of anyone promoting any agenda, which the vit d foundation certain has. the fact that you agree with the agenda does not change the fact that an agenda exists. do you where the foundation gets its funding? especially if it sponsors studies? even if it does not sponsor studies, its activities are costly. that money comes from somewhere, do you know where? I would like to know. does the foundation provide full disclosure? I am not sure, but, I assume since you are an avid backer, you would know this, and probably have reviewed their financial disclosures. If such disclosures are not publically available, another huge red flag.
even more sinister, what if the agenda actually comes from big pharma? impossible you say. not so hard to believe I say. If the studies cited by the Marshall people are correct (which studies by the way are equally valid to anything the vit d counsel promotes) then big pharma will be assuring itself of huge numbers of future customers who go on to develop all manner of chronic illnesses after over dosing on a steroid, er, vit d, for years at a time.
Impossible? sadly, no.
