For those of you who have seen my past postings, you know that I have a history of high cholesterol of the genetic component called type 4 hyperlipidemia.
I started statin meds like lipitor, zocar in 1990 or so. I stayed on them until a year ago when I stopped them due to liver pain from my horribly congested liver. My gb was removed in Oct of 2002 prior to me knowing about flushing.
In Sept 2003 my labs were cholesterol 252 and TG 197.
I have not been the best the last 6 months on my diet, but my labs yesterday were cholesterol 267 and TG 301. I know they would have been better with more frequent flushing since I have only been doing them every 4 months or so for the last year.
But the good news is that I am not on medications for my elevated cholesterol and these numbers as posting are no more or worse than when I was on statin meds.
Without medications in 1990 my chol was 450 and TG were 660. So my numbers are ok with me. Not great but I will improve them.
What is for me to do.............?
1. More frequent flushes
2. An improved diet with more emphasis on raw foods
3. STart a walking program.

Good luck to everyone who is wanting to lower their cholesterol numbers. If I can do it anyone can.
