On closer thought, the superior results in the onion fed groups can probably be attributed to the much higher dose of onion than garlic. Had onion and garlic been given in the same quantities, garlic may well have come out the winner.

Realistically, though, it IS harder to eat a lot of garlic than onion, but gram for gram garlic may be the better choice.
