When I started I jumped right in with both feet at 50 mg per day and went up to 100 very quickly. The only temporary side effects I had were pain between eyes and kidney pain, that both went away immediately upon salt loading. I NEVER had any issues with Acne at all. I have several friends who I have on Iodine now too, and none of them have experienced any problems with acne. Sounds like a scare tactic that originated from the powers that be to keep us from starting Iodine supplementation in the first place.
