The cause of most autoimmune diseases is known. Microbes. MS has been linked to human herpes virus type 6. Juvenile diabetes to a number of viruses. Rheumatoid Arthritis to a form of chlamydia bacteria, etc.

There is also a deficiency in adrenal function leading to the overproduction of low affinity (nonspecific) antibodies.
