I bet you are gluten intolerant like me. If so, you'd have to stick to a strict gluten free diet to cure it (no wheat, barley, or rye). If you feel an improvement while you're on the candida diet then that supports my theory that you may be gluten intolerant (since the candida diet is essentially a gluten free diet with added restrictions). On the other hand you may have low energy on the candida diet (at first) if your body is used to getting Sugar and now it isn't allowed any. Gluten intolerance is basically the same thing as celiac disease. You'll need to read up on it. Celiac disease is what you end up getting if you leave your gluten intolerance untreated - meaning you continue to eat gluten. The diet is very strict in order to see positive results. You need to learn the names of all the ingredients that contain gluten such as caramel coloring, malt extract, dextrose, modified food starch, etc... so you can avoid them.
Also, many people who are gluten intolerant are also dairy intolerant - such as myself. I've found that I can do alright with certain dairy products like cheese and yogurt but not with milk and ice cream.
Peoples success with this diet is usually determined by how bad their symptoms are and how strong their willpower is. My symptoms happen to be bad enough that I have no other choice. I have to follow the diet - its not worth living any other way. And yes, its inconvenient, but its my best option. After 3 years I'm used to it now.
Also, there are tests you can get for celiac disease but beware of false negatives. I have a couple friends who were negative on the test but went on the diet anyway all their symptoms cleared up.
Good luck. You can do it!
