Greetings. As a former police officer myself, I have noticed throughout my career the federalization of local police forces. Notice how they dress w/ military style uniforms and equipment. I have also noticed the new mentality of us against them that has been instilled into the modern day policing. History has shown time and time again, the disposition of governments to control every aspect of the citizens life. Here in the U.S., I do not believe that the government would actually/physically attempt to confiscate weapons, however, they will attempt by every sneaky legislative way, i.e. taxing, federal permits and registration, which would be unconstitutional, as it is a matter for the states to handle. All we need to do is look at Germany(Hitler), Russia(Stalin) and all of the other rulers who disarmed the populace and then had their way. That was one of the founders biggest fears, a federal gov't getting to big and becoming tyrannical. Our present political climate is disturbing to see,i.e. health care legislation, and all of the other changes the present administration is trying to push on us. I could probably fill many pages with commentary. I prayed many times during my career that I wouldn't have to take someones life, and thank God in twenty five yrs had no occasion. To answer your question, I would definitely take any action necessary to protect my family and self. Criminals come from the streets and government. Thomas Jefferson best said it..."The price of freedom is eternal vigilance", and that we must do.
