It doesn't really matter whether the disasters that this man is talking about, were natural or manmade, IMO what he was saying is that if god existed, and is the creator of all things, then all disaters, and suffering, are down to him. As the 'creator' god is accountable for everything. As this god is supposed to be all knowing, and all loving, the fact that suffering occurs points to the conclusion that god does not exist, or that god is not all knowing, and all loving, or is somehow not accountable for what his creation does.
If I had a puppy, and trained this puppy to be a vicious attack dog, (I am creating this attack dog), and I then let this dog loose in the neighbourhood, and this dog attacked and killed a child. Who is to blame?, Who is accountable? The dog? Or me?
I would be accountable as the creator of this attack dog.
