I'm all for having safe nutritional supplements, don't get me wrong, but I *would* like to point out that many of them *are* in fact herbal medications!

For reasons unknown, the American FDA seems unwilling to approve plant-based medications that are not synthetic. Well, either that, or Big Pharma is too disappointed over the fact that a plant cannot be patented and/or too lazy/cheap to develop transgenic herbs (which CAN be patented) with higher concentrations of medicinal substances...

Many of the supplements sold in the US are registered official medications in other countries, some even prescription-only... And, by other countries, I mean big, major countries with pretty modern medical science, not tiny and impoverished backwater dictatorships where "snake oil" is the pinnacle of medical thought!
