I'm in the process of making a inductor coil for a magnetic pulser.
The question i have regarding this is about winding the enameled wire onto the bobbin (from old vhs tape).
Lets say i start the winding of the 1st layer from left to right and once the 1st layer is complete do I then continue winding from right to left and then left to right again once that layer is completed.
or would it be more efficient to keep winding in the same direction lets say left to right and at the end of each layer pull the wire across and again start form left to right continuing until the ~130-150 windings have been reached.

If anyone has any info re: winding multilayer air core inductors that would be appreciated - thanks.
