Hi there. Have they diagnosed you with Costo yet? A costo diagnosis is usually a diagnosis of exclusions....sounds like they have ruled out almost everything else.
Also cost happens, it seems to me, during times of high inflammation. I'd say being pregnant totally fits that description.
Gosh, I know this pain. It's so damn bad and you have to lie in just the right position in order not to feel the pain. But then eventually you twist you torso, and bang, there it goes again.
My girlfriend who is an OB/GYN validated me, whereas all my western doctors wouldn't believe that I had chronic costo. She said it is like any soft tissue damage, and unless you keep it immobile to heal, it's going to be reinjured over and over. I think she's totally right. So what do we do? Stay in a body cast for 6 months to a year?
It sucks.
Because you are pregnant I hesitate to tell you to do anything. I have found an amino acid called DLPA that has been amazing for pain relief. It's just an amino acid, so I don't know if that would be safe for you or not. I would google it and check it out.
There are also baths you can do. Like Epsom Salt baths. I found a great deal of help with a professional massage therapist that knew all about costo. She said I was injuring it by bracing when I was uptight (which seems like all the time these days).
Does it hit you when you are just walking around, and for some reason...bam? It does that to me all the damn time.
I wish you luck. If you ever get that diagnosis, come back and lets talk some more.
