Most protein from meat is very poor in quality... even so called "organic" meats as they still feed the animals "grains" and "organic" waste silage... in a containment environment.
With conventionally grown/raised foods, a vegetarian diet is likely best for most...
With organic... it is a mixed bag...
With pastured, grass fed, and home grown organic foods, most can then handle meat just fine...
In addition, Digestion, absorption, and utilization of proteins (fats and carbohydrates too) is very dependent upon the intestinal microflora... the microflora produce protein digesting acids.
Some food for thought...
