Hello Konnor. I can feel for you. I've been there last year.
May I ask, are you the Konnor that lives in the UK? (seeing a post, maybe from yourself on another website)
I had the high cortisol levels for months ...and it's like the cortisol and adrenaline switch would not shut off.
Than, extremely low cortisol levels following. That's when, under my doctors orders, I've been taking 10-15 mg. of compounded hydrocortisone a day, which has helped to
re-regulate the pituiatry-adrenal axis. ( plus take some extra stress off my already pooped out adrenals )
It has also helped greatly at keeping my blood Sugar levels from falling to low.
That darn bio-feedback loop got all messed up and it's taken soooooo long to get it sraightened out
( of which I am still doing)
I noted you have tried various herbs. Have you tried any amino acids? There are specific ones that can also help to induce sleep. It's worth a try.
Periodically, I still need to take my formula for a good night sleep, and take L-Theanine and a cup of passion flower tea. ( this works well for me, may not for everyone though)
A good website to check into is this: look under the sleep and anxiety titles.

I'm certain, in time, your sleep will improve. I pray it will, as it is so important in the healing process.
