Elemental balance of the cannabis plant.
This is a basic understanding of the elemental balance of cannabis consumption with relation to TCM and Ayurvedic principles.
The two parts used for consumption that make up the bulk of the plant at harvest are the seeds and the unfertilized buds.
The seeds are typically utilized for protein, fiber, EFA's, etc.
"Hemp foods contain 35% carbohydrates, 30% fat, 35% fiber, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, B6, C, D, and in particular vitamin E, and only 8% saturated fat, or less."

They are used in protein powder, hemp milk, hemp oil, hemp butter. In order to avoid destruction of nutritional content they are usually cold processed.
They are beneficial for the liver and kidneys, the oil can have a diuretic effect, and the protein and amino acids help maintain muscle structure and brain function.
The unfertilized buds are what people usually call "pot" or medicinal marijuana. Typically they are dried or concentrated for consumption. The methods used vary, smoking, vaporizing, and ingesting in foods. The active ingredient in this case is THC, though there are other cannaboids which are important constituents of its medicinal properties.
The buds containing THC, etc. Effect the constitution in a number of ways. They relax the muscles, increase blood flow through the liver, kidney and brain, and an overall calming effect as it stimulates melatonin production.-
"Italian researchers discovered that test groups smoking pot had dramatically higher melatonin levels twenty minutes later. After two hours, their melatonin levels were 4,000 % higher than before."
YIN
Increased blood flow makes it so the Liver has to work more and filters more blood. This creates an inner heat within the bodies organs.
YANG
Cold pressed Hemp seed oil contains Albumin a protein manufactued by the liver that is supportive of liver and kidney health. This creates a cooling affect.
The entire complexities of the cannabis plant are extensive, This example of the Yin&Yang of the plant provides a microcosm into the utilization of the plant and its balance. More conclusions could be drawn from comparison of muscle and brain functions.
In short if you consume Cannabis buds(by smoking or otherwise), it would be prescient to also consume Hemp oil and protein to balance the affects it has on the body and mind.
Cannabis is one of the greatest whole foods out there, and its woody stems also make excellent paper.
