Have you read the bible Spud? If so, where do you get this out of it, that God is an "abusive tyranical parent, controlling his children by the use of fear and guilt"?

Here's just one example of the love of God, and His goodness as a father: The prodigal son story: The son has an inheritance and takes his inheritance and blows it all living a wild life. He ends up homeless in a pig pen. He finally decides to go home. When he shows up, the father is exuberant with joy that his son has returned, and he embraces him with love and throws him an elaborate party. Does this sound like a tyranical abusive parent to you who controls his children with fear and guilt. This is a story of God's love for his children. There are many others. If God was what you say he is, I'd think that story would be a lot different.
