I realise that you personally are not going to hate or treat badly a person that doesn't believe as you do, from what I've read of your posts over various forums, has led to me to the conclusion that this is because, with or without your beliefs, you are a good and caring person.

Its what your belief system says about those who reject it, that provides the stick used to keep people under control. What does your bible say happens to people who reject christianity, and the christian god?

If you believe in the existance of the christian god, you must also believe in the punishment you will receive if you reject the christian god. To not receive this punishment, you must toe the line of the belief system. In order to break free of this trap, you must give up the belief in the christian god. What holds people in this trap of christianity, (or any such like beleif systems), is the fear of the punishment they will receive if they do not believe. However secure and comfortable your prison is, however many nice people are trapped in this prison with you, its still a prison. Circular logic.
