Mama
Well that is what i've been trying to say to Hv all along.
I want to come off them eventually, hence all the herbs etc
but i'm not going to suffer. If you come off completely, of course gradually, you feel that you're harming your body and you have all the symptoms back.
I've been doing some googling. And one MD on a forum, answering another poster, said that people with healthy thyroids, on Armour, had no ill affect to their thyroid after two years. What about already unhealthy thyroids though??
I don't know how much they were taking. Although, I didn't think healthy people could take Armour without experiencing hyper symptoms. He did say that alot of the stronger stuff for adrenals, can astrophy those, but thyroids are more robust.
I'm on a glandular from Canada, armour equivalent, as can't get Armour for love nor money. The reformulated Armour didn't work that well for some people, it was to do with the fillers, stopped the hormone getting into the blood properly or something. The FDA got the makers 'Forest' to change their formulation. They are trying to sabotage Armour for sure. Now know one can get hold of it, or Westhroid an alternative.
Canada is compounding tablets and doesn't seem to have a shortage. Someone was told by a Canadian pharmacy that the shortage of Armour was a lie. Anyway, maybe just another Conspiracy theory but the pharmaceuticals must lose billions to armour.
Armour was around before the synthetics, people have been taking it for many many years.
Because of the shortage some have been forced back onto synthetic T4 only meds and all their symptoms have returned. Some people have no thyroid, surgically removed or destroyed, and don't have an option not to take thyroid medication, synthetic or natural.
I still think its better than not taking anything at all. I know Hv disagrees, but that is my opinion. He says Armour can cause bone loss, i don't see that myself. It is just replacing what your body isn't making.
Isn't low thyroid hormone damaging just as much or more.
Anyway not saying anymore on the subject.
I'll do what i feel is right for me.
