In India, farmers have been committing suicide; because of loss pride in not even being able to support their families. This has been happening at an alarming rate.

They bought into the Monsanto Genetically-Modified-Organisms abundant crop thing. Problem is that they have to buy the Genetically-Modified-Organisms seed every year; because the Genetically-Modified-Organisms plants do not propagate. The farmers do not produce enough product that they can afford to buy next year's seed. So they buy less and less each year; just to keep up. Doesn't work. I don't know why they just don't get the idea to accept a smaller crop with unaltered seeds. I suppose it is too late after that first crop. The Monsanto seeds are expensive.

Under these circumstances, I believe that the cross pollination problem would occur on these original GMO crops; but would eventually and quickly go away when no more GMO seeds are planted.
