I just started to research side effects of Mirena after some urging from my running partner. I have a lot of the side effects listed (weight gain, feeling like something was in my throat - but that has passed - anxiety/depression, mood swings, lack of motivation, horrible PMS for long periods of time to include breast pain unlike anything I've had before other than pregnancy) But seeing your user name makes me curious about another side effect I think I am having but only someone who was working out regularly before, during and after Mirena would know.
I've been a consistent long distance runner for over 8 years. I've always been a healthy sweater, but not anything really extreme, until.... Mirena! I've had it now for 2 years 3 months but never put two and two together until last weekend. My sweat during a run is excessive - beyond anything anyone in my group has seen. It's come to light now more than ever because the temps have been low (20s - 30s) and by 12 or so miles, I'm literally soaked through all my layers, to the point of dripping wet. I've also noticed an huge increase in night sweats...having to change 2-3 times during the night.
Just wondering if this is a 'normal' side effect or if I'm just abnormal. Anyone else have this issue?
Thanks for the posts. It's great to have a sounding board and to realize it's not just you. Thinking about making my appointment today to get it removed. I have a 100mile race this summer, and I can't allow this thing to ruin my long time goal/dream.
