From what you describe I think you have benign intracranial hypertension.
Not sure why your dr panicked about that as it is a fairly common and curable disorder. You will have to lose some weight. You will probably have a lumbar puncture to relieve some of the pressure on your brain and may go on some drugs.

But relax - you are going to be just fine!
