My X was a massage therapist and went on to become an acupuncturist. He quit both for a time, because people were just sucking the energy out of him.

I had that happen to me as well. After I qualified in many energy therapies and counselling, I wanted to save the world lol! I was so over-enthusiastic, so wanting to help everyone who was down or sick. But after a while, I started to get seriously drained. I didn't understand why at the time.

I guard my energy as well, lovey. I have had more than a few friendships(and, "relationships") which entailed mucho giving on my part without a lot of payback ................................. People DO intrude, no doubt. Good for you for drawing a line. .................... And look out for the psychic vampires, they're everywhere!

There are codes many people who care about others have, especially when you love to help. There are also codes about the need for approval, appreciation and love. And these need to be addressed in order for there to be balance in the relationships you attract to yourself.

When I got into the Abraham-Hicks materials many years back, it helped me realise why it felt like other people were sucking the life out of me - it was because I allowed them to. They didn't do it to me, I did it to me!

Not only had I not set boundaries, but in order to work with people who were feeling really depressed, I had to lower my vibration to meet them, so I could empathise and understand them more clearly. So, while others were getting better around me, I would feel worse around them. It felt like a complete energy drain and it was yucky!

Once that realisation came, (that it was me who was allowing myself to be drained) everything smoothed itself out. I released the code that I could help everyone, and now, the type of clients I attract are within proximity of my vibration, and we both get to feel good after sessions.

And instead of being guarded, all you have to do is learn to say 'No.' Because a 'No' to someone else, could mean a 'Yes' to you. And a lot of people are programmed not to say 'No' ... when it is absolutely ok to do so.

These days, before I accept a client, I will give them a quick energy scan ... if they are too far away from me energetically, I will refer them to someone who is more of a vibrational match for them.

Everything comes to you by invitation (the code invites it).
