Your story is inspiring. I am optimistic that your healing will continue and the sharing of your story will help others.
I have gone through a similar experience. About 8 months ago I had to go the emergency room due to the fact that I had begun having seizures. I was not under a doctor's care at this time and i was actually having other symptoms which the people around me saw as personality quirks - not a medical condition.
I had a cat scan (which I don't remember) and a MRI. I was diagnosed as having a brain tumor (which the surgeon said was the size of a baseball) and brain surgery was to take place in two weeks. I remember nothing of that 2 week period.
The tumor was non-malignant meningioma on my left temporal lobe. The doctor removed 60% of it and found that I have another one on the opposite side of my brain(even sub-consciously I am working toward balance).
Unexpected emergency brain surgery takes its toll! I seemed to be doing well - but - a little over two months after the surgery I had another seizure (petite). Another cat scan was done and things looked good but I am now taking an anti-seizure med (which meant I could not drive for 6 months).
I've been working on changing my diet. I quit coffee and soda and began herbal teas. I eat no fast food. I have quit meat (although I rarely ate it before). I try not to eat processed food - that's where it gets scary. The more I read and investigate the more I know that going through the grocery store is a maze of danger. I live in a farming community and there is little available that is organic. I don't know what the fresh produce has been treated with.
Still doing limited dairy - but know that has got to go. Letting go of Sugar is hard too (ice cream and chocolate make me happy) and stevia is now my friend. If you have some suggestions on how to increase and manage these changes I would appreciate them.
Thanks.
