Hi mes - You've made an excellent start dealing with your liver issues by eating a healthy Diet and doing a series of colonics. Good for you. It's good that you're gathering more information before you proceed further.

I'm not familiar with the Liver Flush protocol you listed. The ones that I've read about (including the one I did) involve drinking apple juice for a week before the flush, and don't include garlic. I've never heard of the latter being used for the liver, and wonder why your naturopath wants you to use so much of it. The protocol I used a year ago is from "The Liver and Gallbladder Miracle Cleanse" by Andreas Moritz . It worked well for me, and I've read that others have had good results with it.

Moritz states that Liver Cleansing dumps a lot of toxins into the bloodstream, and that this puts a big strain on the kidneys. I can tell you from personal experience that this is true. He recommends doing a kidney cleanse before you start a liver cleanse, so that your kidneys can handle the toxins that are released during the latter. In "The Detox Book" Bruce Fife makes the same recommendation. Incidentally, that book has good information on kidney and liver cleansing, and other aspects of detox.
